Company executives bring veteran leadership and relocation expertise to Washington during American Trucking Associations’ Moving & Storage Conference Call on Washington
WASHINGTON, Sept. 25, 2026 — Good Greek Moving & Storage leaders traveled to the nation’s capital for the American Trucking Associations’ Moving & Storage Conference Call on Washington, meeting with White House and congressional officials to discuss veteran employment, military relocations and stronger protections for consumers.
The Sept. 15–17 conference brought moving and storage industry leaders to Washington for policy briefings and meetings with federal officials and members of Congress. Good Greek served as a conference sponsor, with Founder and CEO Spero Georgedakis joined by Chief of Staff Anthony Johnson and Director of Business Development John Rourke for the Washington meetings. ATA’s official conference schedule also identifies Good Greek as a sponsor of several portions of the event.
Johnson and Rourke, both U.S. Army veterans, brought firsthand military experience and perspective to discussions surrounding veteran employment and the relocation needs of service members and their families.
Georgedakis also serves on the American Trucking Associations’ Moving & Storage Conference Executive Committee, representing independent movers for the 2025–2027 term.
During a meeting with White House Deputy Chief of Staff Dan Scavino, Good Greek discussed opportunities for the moving and transportation industries to create meaningful career pathways for military veterans.
A central focus was Freedom Haulers, a federal initiative launched in July to connect more veterans with careers in trucking. Led by the U.S. Department of Transportation, the initiative connects veterans with resources that can help translate military driving experience into commercial credentials and civilian careers, including expedited CDL pathways, training, apprenticeships and employment opportunities.
Good Greek discussed how the leadership, discipline, logistical experience and mission-focused training developed through military service can translate into careers not only behind the wheel, but also in operations, logistics, fleet management and leadership throughout the moving and transportation industries.

Military relocation was another major focus of the Washington discussions. Conference materials note that transportation service providers handle household goods relocations for more than 300,000 service members and military families annually, while military moving oversight, accountability and reliable service remain key industry priorities. ATA also identified military moving oversight and accountability among the issues its members brought to policymakers during this year’s conference.
Good Greek outlined its vision for a higher standard of military relocation built around detailed planning, proactive communication, careful handling and clear accountability from origin to destination. The company emphasized that service members and their families facing a Permanent Change of Station should be able to depend on a relocation process that is organized, transparent and responsive at every stage.
In a separate meeting with U.S. Sen. Ashley Moody of Florida, Good Greek addressed the threat posed by fraudulent and unlicensed movers and the need for stronger consumer protection within the moving industry. Conference materials document the Sept. 16 meeting with Moody. Moody has represented Florida in the U.S. Senate since January 2025.
Consumer protection was among the Moving & Storage Conference’s principal advocacy priorities in Washington. ATA identified stronger enforcement against bad actors, updated consumer protections and greater accountability within the moving industry among the issues discussed with policymakers. Good Greek emphasized the importance of collaboration among reputable movers, industry associations, regulators and law enforcement to combat moving fraud, strengthen accountability and help families identify legitimate moving providers.
